Lagos Traffic Radio hosts Ijebu Muslim College Old Student Association

L-R: General Manager, Lagos Traffic Radio 96.1FM, Mr. Tayo Akanle giving a token gift to Mr Olakunle Ajia, Ijebu Muslim College Alumni Association during their Courtesy visit for partnership to the Station.

General Manager, Lagos Traffic Radio, Mr. Tayo Akanle has promised to partner the Ijebu Muslim College Old Students Association in giving wide publicity to the upcoming 70th Anniversary of Ijebu Muslim College, Ijebu-Ode, especially as they plan to give back to their alma mater.

Akanle gave the assurance when members of the Association, led by an anniversary committee member, Mr. Olalekan Ajia paid the management of the broadcast station a courtesy visit.

He stated that Traffic Radio prides itself as one of the best in the State due to its regular updates of traffic information across Lagos, as well as neighbouring States, to facilitate easy movement of residents from one point to the other.

While maintaining that the Station has remained focused on its mission of providing adequate information on the traffic situation, the General Manager assured that Traffic Radio will continue to provide timely, accurate traffic information and travel advisory to commuters for enhanced productivity, using modern technology and a well-motivated workforce.

“This has helped listeners navigate across the city with much ease and reduced time spent in traffic. That alone encouraged me to continue to bring in more innovative ideas to put the station in the right direction and I am so proud that feedback coming, not even from Lagos, but also outside the State is so encouraging and will make us work harder”, Akanle assured.

Responding, Mr. Ajia observed that the Association decided to partner with Lagos Traffic Radio, because of its acceptance to the people and the ability to reach out to large number of people who can support the old student association’s desire to give back to society.

“Our Mission is to inspire and encourage everybody to pitch in for the education of our children. The way things are, we all know that Education in Nigeria has collapsed. There is a serious problem right from the primary to the secondary even to the Tertiary Institutions and we need to support the government”, Ajia said.

He appreciated the efforts of Governor Babajide Sanow-Olu in revamping the education sector, especially with the training and retraining of teachers to elevate the quality standards of students in public primary schools.

Ajia also commended Traffic Radio for improving the interface between officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, and members of the public.
