FLASH UPDATE – OFIN CANAL, APONGBON INWARD COSTAIN
A loaded 40ft containerized vehicle has overturned immediately after CMS Bridge at Ofin Canal, Apongbon, inward Costain.
Preliminary information indicates that the incident may have been caused by a loose propeller, which disengaged and resulted in the vehicle overturning.
The overturned vehicle is currently obstructing the entire roadway. LASTMA Rescue & Recovery Team has been activated and recovery operations are ongoing.
TRAFFIC ADVISORY
Motorists approaching from Inner Marina/CMS should use UBA Roundabout → Ebute Ero → Eko Bridge → Costain to continue their journey.
Motorists coming from Broad Street should navigate through Apongbon underneath the bridge → UBA Roundabout → Ebute Ero via CFAO Bridge → reconnect with Eko Bridge.
Motorists are advised to exercise patience, follow the diversion routes and cooperate with traffic management personnel while recovery operations continue.
