Lagos Traffic Radio has been charged not to relent in its efforts to collaborate with the State Government in ensuring that the Letter ‘T’ of the six pillar T.H.E.M.E.S Developmental Agenda of the Sanwo-Olu administration which stands for Transportation and Traffic Management is actualized.

Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Gbenga Omotoso gave the charge at the Opening of the 2022 Retreat organized for the Management Staff of LTR, with the Theme:LTR Vision 2032-Roadmap Towards A Sustainable Traffic Reportage in Lagos.

Mr. Omotoso who commended the Station for its efforts in disseminating traffic Information and Advisory to Lagos residents, described the training as apt, emphasizing the need for the Station to leverage technology for efficiency to continue to play a lead role in the Broadcasting Industry.

‘’If we are improving in Waterways and the Rail is coming on, I think it is only fair that your Station will improve and set up its game so that the people will see that the Station is moving together with the State Government’’ Omotoso said.

In his Goodwill Message, the Chairman House Committee on Information, Security and Governance, Honourable Setonji David, commended the organization for doing well, noting that training and retraining of the workforce, leveraging technology will enhance the Station’s overall Performance.

‘’In today’s world, Staff Organisational life in the work place is becoming more unpredictable and this is majorly as a result of both advancement in Technology and the current mode of doing Business. Thus, to catch upwith this trend, Organisations are now under obligation to improve staff performance through Training and Re-training programmes’’.

Earlier in his Welcome Address, the General Manager of Lagos Traffic Radio, Mr. Tayo Akanle stated that the Retreat was necessitated by the need to develop a Robust Master Plan for a clearer direction in the next ten years.

Mr. Akanle noted that the Station is set to be taken to a point in which it can compete favorablyat internationallevel.

‘’We have been consistent in having this platform because of the fact that it has been one of the successes of uplifting the Station to where it is today’ Akanle noted.’.

‘’I must surely say that most of the outcomes through the formation from the House Retreat which we have been implementing have also been some of the reasons while the station has moved from one level to another’’he said.

While thanking the Management and Staff of Lagos Traffic Radio for honouring him as he prepares to pens down from the Civil Service, on the 15th of July, 2022, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Strategy, Mr, Shina Thorpe urged Lagos Traffic Radio to continue to reflect excellence in all its activities.

‘’I want to appreciate and I want to thank all of you, Please Lagos State is the State of Excellence, you must reflect that Excellent Service.so, for us that means that we can reach for the Sky, so donot relent, let us do more’ Thorpe said’.

Facilitators at the event touched on topics including, ‘Internalising The Essential Element of A Development Plan’, ‘Leveraging Technology And Innovation For Organisational Efficiency’, ‘Creating a Sustainable and Impactful Social Media Plan For LTR, as well as ‘Developing A Sustainable and Strategic Work plan For Lagos Traffic Radio.
