Lagos Traffic Radio (LTR) has been honoured with a prestigious Special Award at the 2025 Ideas Day Innovation Competition, organised by the Office of Transformation, Creativity and Innovation (OTCI).
The recognition celebrates the station’s exceptional strides in intelligent mobility broadcasting and its leadership in delivering technology-driven, real-time traffic information to millions of Lagos commuters.
OTCI stated that the Special Award emerged from a rigorous, evidence-based assessment involving performance metrics and stakeholder surveys.
Lagos Traffic Radio was commended for its multi-purpose, technology-enabled traffic information system that has significantly improved mobility management across Lagos State.
The competition, which showcases excellence among Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), continues to promote a culture of innovation, problem-solving, and enhanced public service delivery in Lagos.
Lagos Traffic Radio’s recognition this year reinforces its role as a leader in intelligent transport communication and as a trusted partner in the state’s mobility ecosystem.
The award was presented to the General Manager of Lagos Traffic Radio, Mr Tayo Akanle, who was recognised as an Innovative Leader in Traffic Intelligence and Mobility Broadcasting.
Mr Akanle, who was represented at the award presentation by the Director of Programmes, Mr Victor Oteri, received the plaque on behalf of the management and staff.
Speaking on the achievement, Mr Akanle expressed appreciation to OTCI and reaffirmed the station’s commitment to leveraging innovation, data intelligence, and emerging technology to further improve traffic broadcasting and service delivery to the public.
“This award is a testament to the dedication and creativity of our entire team. Lagos Traffic Radio will continue to raise the bar in mobility communication, ensuring that commuters receive accurate, real-time traffic information that keeps Lagos moving,” he said.
In attendance were key members of the station’s leadership team, including; Queen Latifat Aderibigbe, Director of Accounts and Finance; Adebowale Yusuff, Manager of Programmes and Onikoyi Efunluyi Omojoju, Assistant Director, Administration & Human Resources.
