TRAFFIC ADVISORY – MEKWEN BRIDGE REHABILITATION
Rehabilitation work is currently ongoing on Mekwen Bridge, handled by Buildwell Contractors.
The project commenced on Friday, October 16, and is scheduled to continue until Monday, October 19, 2026.
To facilitate the repairs, half of the roadway for both inward and outward traffic towards Bonny Camp has been cordoned off, restricting vehicular movement to the remaining open lanes.
Motorists should expect delays and slower traffic flow extending towards CMS on Lagos Island and Bonny Camp on Victoria Island.
LASTMA officers have been deployed to manage traffic and minimise disruptions.
Motorists are advised to exercise patience, obey traffic officers’ instructions, and consider alternative routes, such as Falomo or Osborne, where convenient.
